How does BTL Lymphatic Drainage work?

Different placements

Leg Placement

The BTL Lymphatic Drainage machine delivers rhythmic pneumatic compression to the legs, stimulating lymphatic flow and improving blood circulation. When used on the legs, it helps reduce swelling, fluid retention, and symptoms of varicose veins or poor circulation. It’s especially beneficial for individuals with lymphedema, athletes recovering from intense training, or patients recovering from surgery. The treatment promotes detoxification, reduces inflammation, relieves heaviness, and supports faster muscle recovery and overall leg wellness.

Arm Placement

The BTL Lymphatic Drainage machine uses advanced pneumatic compression technology to stimulate the body’s lymphatic system. When applied to the arms, it helps reduce swelling (lymphedema), improve circulation, and promote the natural flow of lymph fluid. This process supports detoxification, decreases inflammation, and can relieve heaviness or discomfort in the arms. It is often used post-surgery, for recovery after intense physical activity, or to manage chronic conditions such as lymphatic congestion and poor venous return.

How it works:

How BTL Lymphatic Drainage Works:

BTL Lymphatic Drainage therapy utilizes intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC), a clinically validated, non-invasive method that applies sequential pressure to limbs via inflatable sleeves. These sleeves rhythmically inflate and deflate to simulate the natural peristaltic contractions of lymphatic vessels (lymphangions), promoting the efficient movement of lymph fluid toward central drainage points such as the thoracic duct and right lymphatic duct. This facilitates lymphatic return, venous drainage, and the reabsorption of excess interstitial fluid into the circulatory system. The process improves microcirculation, reduces capillary filtration, and enhances the removal of metabolic waste, inflammatory mediators, and excess fluid. As a result, BTL lymphatic drainage therapy is effective in managing conditions such as lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, and post-surgical or post-traumatic swelling. It also helps alleviate common symptoms like heavy or tired legs, fluid retention, muscle soreness, and inflammation. Additionally, it can support recovery in athletes, enhance detoxification, prevent fibrosis, and improve overall tissue oxygenation and healing.
